Powerful. Inspiring. Life-changing. These are just a few words that capture the ministry of Apostle John W. Horne, Jr.—a humble yet visionary leader whose passion for God’s purpose has touched countless lives in Central Texas and beyond.

From the moment he surrendered his life to Christ in 1976 at the Full Gospel Holy Temple in Fort Worth, Texas, Apostle Horne’s journey has been marked by unwavering faith and bold obedience. Under the mentorship of the late Elder A.W. Holland and the dynamic ministry of Apostle Lobias Murray, he was prepared for the calling that would soon transform his life—and the lives of many others.

In June 1985, answering God’s voice, Apostle Horne moved to Austin, Texas, knowing no one, yet confident in the mission God had placed before him. There he founded the Full Gospel Holy Temple Church of Austin. Through his steadfast leadership, the church grew as lives were changed and souls were added to the Kingdom.

Apostle Horne’s ministry extends far beyond the pulpit. Together with his wife of more than five decades, First Lady Barbara J. Horne, he founded Austin We Care, a nonprofit that brings hope and relief to families in need—providing clothing, groceries, and toys to over 100 families each Christmas season. His compassion for the community has earned him numerous honors, including the Unsung Hero Award from State Farm and KFIT Radio, the Hometown Hero Award from KEYE 42 TV, and recognition by state representatives Dawnna Dukes and Lloyd Doggett.

A gifted author, Apostle Horne has penned several impactful books—including Power Through Fasting and Prayer, God’s Way to Greatness, and Keys to a Successful Ministry—all birthed from real-life experiences to encourage, guide, and strengthen believers in their walk with God.

His faithfulness and dedication have been recognized in many ways:

• 2006: Elevated to the office of Bishop by Apostle Lobias Murray.
   
• 2009: Awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from St. Thomas Christian College.
   
• 2012: Ordained to the office of Apostle by Apostle Darryl G. McCoy.
   

In 2010, God gave Apostle Horne a fresh vision and a new name for the ministry—Restoration Temple of Deliverance—a mandate to refocus, restore, and uphold the standards of holiness. That vision expanded in 2018 with the opening of Restoration East in Taylor, Texas, and most recently with the launch of Restoration South, San Antonio, Texas.

First Lady Barbara J. Horne is a graceful, faith-filled leader whose heart for people shines through everything she does. For more than 50 years, she has stood faithfully alongside Apostle John W. Horne, helping lead Restoration Temple of Deliverance with compassion, wisdom, and prayer. As co-founder of Austin We Care, she works tirelessly to bring hope and help to families in need, especially during the holiday season. Known for her kindness, strength, and servant’s heart, First Lady Horne inspires women and families to live with faith, purpose, and joy.

Today, Apostle John W. Horne and Lady Barbara J. Horne’s mission is clear.
